KOCHI: The CPM district committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday to decide the LDF candidate in Thrikkakkara. Kochi mayor M Anil Kumar, district committee member K S Arun Kumar and college professor Kochurani Joseph are being considered.

Meantime, LDF convener E P Jayarajan has responded that the LDF’s strength will rise to 100. The BJP’s move is to decide its candidate on Wednesday or Thursday. They are considering people including A N Radhakrishnan for the candidacy.

The by-election in Thrikkakkara is being held due to the untimely demise of former Congress MLA P T Thomas. Uma Thomas, wife of P T Thomas, is contesting as the UDF candidate in the constituency. The by-election will take place on May 31 and votes will be counted on June 3.
