KOZHIKODE: The RDO has given permission to conduct the post-mortem of the body of prominent vlogger Rifa Mehnu. The action is based on a complaint lodged by Rifa's family. Rifa's body had not been subjected to a post-mortem in Dubai. Rifa was found hanging in her flat in Dubai on March 1.

Her family, which alleged that there was a mystery in not performing the postmortem in Dubai, demanded that action should be taken here. Following this, the procedures for postmortem were started.

Kakkur police had registered a case against Rifa's husband Mehnas in connection with the incident. Rifa's father, mother and brother had lodged a complaint to Rural SP A Srinivasan that a case should be registered against Mehnas as there was a mystery surrounding her death. Kakkur police conducted a preliminary inquiry on the instructions of the SP. The police also recorded the statements of Rifa's parents and brother. The couple got married 3 years ago.
