KOZHIKODE: The body of vlogger Rifa Mehnu, who was found dead in her flat in Dubai, has been exhumed for post-mortem. The body was exhumed from the burial ground of the Pavandur Juma Masjid in Kozhikode under the supervision of the Tehsildar. A police team led by Thamarassery DySP and forensic experts were also present. The body was not significantly damaged as it was embalmed.

The post-mortem will be carried out at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Forensic surgeons of the hospital will perform postmortem and chemical examinations of internal organs. Rifa's mother responded that the truth would come out after the post-mortem. She added that she did not think her daughter would commit suicide and that the family should get justice.

Rifa (20) was found hanging in her flat in Dubai on March 1. Rifa's family had alleged that her husband Mehnaz was behind her death. The family also complained that Mehnaz had abused Rifa mentally and physically. Police have registered a case against him for mental and physical harassment and incitement to suicide.

The action is based on a complaint lodged by Rifa's family. Rifa's body had not been subjected to a post-mortem in Dubai. The relatives said that Rifa did not have any problems in order to commit suicide and demanded a thorough probe into the incident.
