KOZHIKODE: The death of Rifa Mehnu, a vlogger and album star from Pavandoor, is suspected to be a murder. The preliminary post-mortem report stated that there were marks on the woman’s neck. A detailed post-mortem report will be obtained in two days.

The post-mortem was performed by a team of doctors led by Dr Lisa John, head of forensic. It was earlier decided to conduct the post-mortem at the Pavandoor Juma Masjid graveyard where the body was laid to rest.

As the body was not heavily decomposed, the marks on her neck were noticed when the body was taken out of the grave and examined. The body was shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for post-mortem as a detailed examination was required. The internal organs have also been sent for chemical testing. After receiving the detailed post-mortem report, the police have indicated that the probe may be extended to Dubai if necessary.

Rifa was found dead on March 1 at her flat in Al Jaffiliya, Dubai. The body was taken to Rifa's hometown of Pavandoor and laid to rest. The family then lodged a complaint with the Kozhikode Rural Superintendent of Police stating that there was no chance for their daughter to commit suicide and that they had doubts about her husband's behaviour.
