KOCHI: Twenty20 also announced that it will not contest in the Thrikkakkara by-election. Twenty20 announcement came soon after the Aam Aadmi Party declared that it would not contest. Earlier, there were indications that the two parties would form an alliance to back a common candidate. Chairman Sabu M Jacob said that like the Aam Aadmi Party, Twenty20 is giving importance to the success of the public meeting at Kizhakkambalam.
Leaders of both the parties said that the election in Thrikkakara will not determine the state government. The party is focusing on the next elections. The votes of the party activists will be announced on May 15. Aam Aadmi Party National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will arrive in Kochi on the same day. Both parties said they would pay more attention to the organizational structure.
