KOCHI: The crime branch has again issued notice to Kavya Madhavan, wife of Dileep, accused in the actor assault case, as part of further probe. She has been directed to appear at 11 am for interrogation. Meantime, it has been hinted that she is not likely to appear.

The crime branch had earlier issued notices to appear for interrogation. However, she gave a letter to the crime branch informing her inconvenience. The crime branch decided to record Kavya's statement after Dileep's sister's husband said that the animosity between the surviving actress and Kavya was the reason for the assault that led to the case.

The special investigation team is investigating whether Kavya has a role along with Dileep in the conspiracy case against the actress. The notice was issued to Kavya to clarify this. Kavya had earlier said that she can be questioned at Dileep's house Padma Sarovaram. However, the probe team have decided to seek information from Kavya by showing some scenes and listening to excerpts using a projector. According to the crime branch, Padma Sarovaram is not a suitable place for this. Meanwhile, the crime branch investigation has been expedited as the high court had issued an ultimatum to complete further investigation into the case of assault on the actress by May 30.
