BENGALURU: A prostitution racket that had detained women inside a secret compartment in a hotel and used them for trafficking was busted by the police. The incident took place at Chitradurga in Karnataka. Six people, including the hotel manager and agents, were arrested in connection with the incident.
The police have rescued 12 women, including two minors, from the hotel. The women, who are natives of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana, were brought to the hotel via agents. A secret compartment was set up in the back wall of the toilet on the first floor of the hotel. The women were housed here. They were not allowed to get out from the secret area.
A team of police led by Chitradurga DCP had raided the hotel following secret inputs of a prostitution ring. The police suspects that a huge racket is behind the trafficking. Detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident, said the DCP.
