KOTTAYAM: Alleppey Benny, popular music director who has given life to about 500 drama songs, now suffers from depression due to isolation. He now lives at Marian Sadanam, Pala. At the age of 70, Benny has only one wish, and a new prosthetic leg.

MS Baburaj's disciple Allappey Benny was very popular earlier. An accident happened on March 10, 1996, while he was returning home after a program. His vehicle collided with a bus. His legs had to be amputated. Ever since, he suffered a lot. Slowly, he turmed to devotional songs. Benny, a native of Alappuzha Poonkavu, was introduced to drama songs by Sebastian Kunjukunju Bhagavathar. The hit songs sung by Benny are Pakal Kinavin Pavizha Therilil, Karivalayitta Kanna etc. He seeks the help of others to fulfill his wish.
