KOTTAYAM: Foundation stone for Kerala Rubber Limited (KRL), which is expected to bring good economic benefits to the rubber farmers and the market in the state, was laid at the Vellore HNL site acquired by the state government. Working will be like the CIAL model (PPP model).
This is the first public-private partnership in the state to manufacture value-added products from natural rubber. The work is based on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by the Rubber Board. The ventures will start in two phases.
The quality control centre of aircraft tyres is also considered here. Currently, there is no facility for this in the state. There will also be a sterilization centre for sterilizing latex products used in the health sector, including gloves.
