Excluding Muslim girls from public platforms and insulting them will have far-reaching consequences, said former Haritha leader Fathima Thahiliya. Recently, a Samastha leader’s objection towards a girl entering a public stage in a ceremony held in Malappuram had sparked a controversy. Following which, Fathima Thahiliya took to social media and expressed her stance over the issue.

The community leaders should learn to encourage Muslim girls keeping them close to the community. If not, a time shall come when those who suffer such harsh experiences, will begin to hate religion and its leadership, she wrote on Facebook.
