KOZHIKODE: The K Swift bus jammed in between the pillars of KSRTC bus stand, has been finally taken out. The bus was taken out after cutting an iron bar pushed from a pillar after a five-hour long effort. The bus which came from Bengaluru was trapped in between the pillars. It is believed that this was due to the inexperience of the driver who was not able to estimate the distance of the pillars. When efforts started to take the bus outside, it got more jammed. They could not bring the bus outside even after the employees tried pushing it.

The condition was that the bus could be brought out only after smashing the window panes of the vehicle or after cracking the sides of the pillars. The bus was taken out after cutting the iron bar of the pillar. It was reported earlier that there were flaws in the construction of Kozhikode bus stand. Usually it is difficult to park KSRTC buses here.

There has been widespread criticism in the past that the pillars at the bus stop were built without maintaining clear distance. Crores were spent on the construction of the building. A vigilance inquiry is also underway into the defects in the construction. The bus jammed was replaced by another and service continued.
