MUMBAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, in the drugs-on-cruise case. The charge sheet submitted by the NCB has stated lack of sufficient evidence against Aryan Khan and five others. The NCB has submitted charge sheet against 14 people in the drugs-on-cruise case. The charge sheet consists of 10 volumes.

Aryan Khan and two of his friends were arrested in the drugs case by the NCB on October 3, 2021. He was arrested along with his friends, Arbaaz Merchant and model Munmun Dhamecha, on the grounds that they were involved in the drugs party on the cruise ship.

However, former Attorney General Mukul Rohtagi, Aryan's lawyer, had argued in court that no drugs were seized from Aryan and that he had not used drugs. He told the court that the arrest was therefore illegal and that the case against Aryan was based on some irrelevant WhatsApp chats. However, the NCB told the court that the arrest was legal and Aryan had links with drug suppliers.

Allegations of widespread irregularities in the NCB raid had surfaced following the arrest. The investigation team had not captured the video of the raid. As the controversy escalated, the probe was taken over by a special team of the NCB.
