THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has warned fishermen and coastal dwellers to be vigilant as strong winds and bad weather are likely along the coasts of Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Authorities have warned people to stay away from dangerous areas as seas are likely to get turbulent.

The Disaster Management Authority has said that fishing vessels such as boats should be stored safely in the harbour. Maintaining a safe distance between boats can avoid the risk of collision. Fishing gears should be secured. Trips to the beach and recreational activities at sea should be avoided altogether. District Collector Dr. Navjot Khosa said that fishermen should not go fishing off the coast of Lakshadweep till the end of the fishing ban.
