THIRUVNANTHAPURAM: Widespread rains are lashing the state even today. Yellow alert has been sounded in eight districts. Yellow alert is issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts.
The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated showers in all districts of Kerala for the next three hours. There are chances of thunder and wind. Fishing has been banned.
The Central Meteorological Department has warned of rains along with thundershowers in isolated parts of Kerala till June 1.
Monsoon in two days
The southwest monsoon is expected to arrive in the state in two days, the Met office said. Even with the onset of monsoon, it is likely to be weak in the beginning. It is expected to be active in the coming days.
