PATHANAPURAM: The body of the tenth class student who went missing after falling into the Kallada River while taking selfie, has been found. She has been identified as Aparna, daughter of Manoj of Koodal in Pathanapuram. She was a student of Mount Tabor School.

The body was recovered from Pookot Kadavu, nearly two kilometres away from the place where she fell. The body was found by firefighters and a scuba diving team who were searching the area about four kilometres from the scene of the accident from 7 am today.

The accident happened around 12 noon yesterday at the Vellaramon Ghat in Pathanapuram. She had come to her friend Anugraha’s house. Anugraha and her brother Abhinav, a seven class student, had come to the Kallada River to take photos and video.

In the meanwhile, she fell into the river. The other two who fell into the river were rescued. Though Anugraha and Abhinv were rescued miraculously, Aparna could not be saved.
