BENGALURU: Another setback for the Congress in Karnataka. Senior Congress leader H.N. Chandrashekar left the party citing personal reasons. On Saturday evening, Chandrashekar submitted his resignation letter to Karnataka PCC president DK Sivakumar.
According to Congress sources, Chandrashekar was not happy with the party over his Rajya Sabha seat, which led to his resignation. But Chandrasekhar has not yet responded.
Chandrashekar has acted in many plays, films and tele dramas. He joined electoral politics in 1985 when he won assembly election from Gauribidanur on the Janata Party ticket. Later, he joined BJP and became MLC from 1998 to 2004. He had also served as the Kannada Development Authority chairperson till 2013, he joined the party in 2014 and was there till his resignation.
