THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A task force has been set up to repair roads damaged during monsoons. A toll free number will be there for the public to notify the Task Force of any flooding, potholes, gutters and other threats to the road. Just call 1800 425 777 and yur complaints will be resolved soon.
This is the first time in the history of the maintenance department that such a people-friendly system has been set up. This was on the instructions of Minister PA Mohammad Riyas. The Public Information Cell will work with the task force at the KSTP office. The cell will be inaugurated by the Minister on June 1.
Information Cell
People can call 1800 425 777 at any time to report rain damage to properties such as roads and bridges. The cell should pass this information on to the assistant engineers and to the district and state WhatsApp groups of the task force. The assistant engineer must repair the fault within 24 hours of arriving on site. Before and after photos should be shared on the WhatsApp by the Assistant Engineer. The District Mission should examine the complaints and actions and report to the State Mission. Every three days, the special team in the cell should report the name and phone number of the complainant to the state task force along with the information of the officer in charge of the task, the method and the time taken to reach the solution.
Mission team
The state mission team consists of the chief engineers of Road, NH, KSTP, KRFB and the maintenance division. The district mission teams are made up of executive engineers.
