THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former MLA PC George, who was seen campaigning in the Thrikkakara by-election despite being asked to appear before the Thiruvananthapuram Fort Assistant Commissioner's office yesterday as part of the probe into the hate speech case, has again violated bail conditions, police said. The notice was issued to appear at 11 am on Sunday. However, police sources said that George had initially informed in writing that he would not be able to attend due to health issues and later informed via e-mail that he is going to campaign in Thrikkakara. However, the Fort police said that it is a violation of the bail condition to not appear when requested by the investigating officer and that further action would be taken after seeking legal advice from the Director General of Prosecutions today.
George, who was remanded in custody in Thiruvananthapuram for violating bail earlier in the case, was granted bail by the high court yesterday. Bail was granted on the condition that he fully cooperate with the investigation and appear when requested by officers. George also told the court he could accept any of the terms. But the police say the condition was violated.
