BENGALURU: Black ink was thrown at farmers organisation leader Rakesh Tikait. The incident happened during a press meet at Bengaluru press club, he was attacked by the supporters of a Karnataka farmers organisation leader. Chaos was erupted as a result of this. According to police, the issues between farmers organisation led to this attack and the incidents that followed.

Kodihalli Chandrasekhar, a farmer leader from Karnataka, had earlier raised allegations against Rakesh Tikait for charges including money laundering. Chandrasekhar is an influential leader in the state. He had recently joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Rajesh Tikait held a press conference today to clarify that all the allegations made by Chandrasekhar are false. The attack took place shortly before the start of the press conference. Some people came to the hall and threw ink on Tikait. Clashes followed after the attack. There were people sitting in the hall, including women. Both groups used chairs as a weapon. Police have taken attackers from both the groups into custody.

Tikait said that those who feared the farmers movement were behind this incident and that the reason for all the problems that happened today was because he was not given proper security.
