IDUKKI: Police have arrested four persons in connection with the incident in which a 15-yer-old girl was sexually assaulted in Pooppara.
The arrested have been identified as Samuel, Aravind Kumar and two minor boys.

The victim was the daughter of a couple who came to work on a cardamom plantation in Idukki. The girl had arrived at a tea plantation in Poopara with her boyfriend on Sunday evening. Her boyfriend was drunk. According to police, six men arrived at the area and attacked the boyfriend before dragging the girl to the plantation and sexually abusing her.

The accused had abandoned the girl at the plantation and fled the scene by the time locals rushed to the area after another friend of the girl shouted for help.
