ALAPPUZHA: A vicar of the St. Paul's Church in Kalath was found hanging in the auditorium of the church. Fr Sunny Arackal (65) was found hanging in the auditorium on Tuesday evening. The reason behind the suicide is not clear. The authorities had recently transferred the vicar. Locals said that the priest experienced severe mental stress because of this action.

A native of Mararikulam, Fr. Sunny had been the Vicar of the Kalath Church under the Latin Catholic Church for the past five years. He was recently transferred to another church in Cherthala. Police said the vicar had been under severe mental stress since then.
