A busy singer in Bollywood and have sung many hit songs. Sang more than 700 songs in his career. The demise of Krishnakumar Kunnath is a great loss to the music world.

KK was born to C S Menon of Thiruvambadi in Thrissur and Kanavally of Punkunnam, in Delhi in 1968. Though he could not read or write Malayalam, KK who grew up in Delhi could speak Malayalam. His schooling was in Delhi's Mount St Mary's School and graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. After his studies, he worked as a marketing executive.

KK formed his own rock music group, stepped into the music industry with his ad tunes. There was a turning point in his life after reaching Mumbai. He has sung in many commercials and television serials.

KK has sung over 700 songs in his career but has sung only one song in Malayalam. KK sang a song in the film Puthiya Mugham in 2009 directed by Deepan starring Prithviraj. The song was composed by Deepak Dev and found a place in the hit charts.

In an interview, KK had said that although he sings in other South Indian languages, it is difficult for him to sing in Malayalam. The singer, who thought that the Malayalam he spoke was not a problem, doubted whether his pronunciation in Malayalam would be accepted.

However, he wanted to sing more songs in Malayalam. He also shared the suspicion that Malayalam music directors had an impression that he was not interested in accepting offers in Malayalam. He loved to hear Malayalam songs and loved Kerala very much.

KK, who returned after a music concert in Kolkata on Tuesday, collapsed at the Grand Hotel where he was staying. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute, but died later.
