MUMBAI: Covid cases are on the rise in Mumbai, India's largest city as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported a six percent increase in test positivity rate.
The corporation has directed the authorities to increase testing amid the rise in Covid cases. The authority has asked to increase vaccination for those between 12 and 18 years of age and urge to make the booster dose. Hospitals should always be ready. Last day, 506 new Covid cases were confirmed in Mumbai. In May, there was a 100 percent increase in the cases reported in April.
At the same time, Covid cases are on the rise in Kerala as well. In the state, 1197 people were diagnosed with the disease on Tuesday. According to statistics, about half of the confirmed cases in the country are in Kerala. The highest number of cases was reported from Ernakulam district yesterday. So far 5.50 crore doses of vaccine have been given in the state. A total of 81.02 per cent people have been vaccinated.
