KOZHIKODE: BJP state president K Surendran has said that India has become a world power on the eighth anniversary of the Narendra Modi government. Speaking at a press conference in Kozhikode, Surendran said that the stalemate in governance and stagnant development in the country was ended by the Modi government that came to power in 2014.
“All reports show that India has become the fastest-growing economy in the world. This year's GDP growth to 8.47 is an example of this. Through hard work, Modi has transformed the country into a world power in eight years. The Prime Minister of India has become the best head of state in the world by overcoming the Covid crisis that lasted for two years. The Centre is ruled by a government that has been providing free foodgrains to 80 crore poor people in the country for two years,” Surendran said.
Surendran said that the Modi government had given the most assistance to Kerala. “Rs 5,600 crore was sanctioned to Kerala as GST compensation yesterday. The Center allocates Rs 3,000 crore to Kerala every year as Revenue Deficit Grant. The Modi government is implementing corporate federalism, which pays 42 percent of the tax revenue to the state,” he said.
