KOLKATA: As per post-mortem report, severe heart attack was the cause of famous Bollywood singer and Keralite KK's (Krishnakumar Kunnath) death. According to hospital sources, KK suffers from severe respiratory problems and liver disease. After post-mortem of one and a half hour, Kolkata paid tribute to the singer with state honours. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was also present on the occasion. KK's wife Jyothi Krishna and children Nakul and Thamara also arrived in Kolkata.

The body was then taken to their home in Mumbai for public viewing at his residence in Versova. The funeral will be held at 9 am tomorrow at the Mukhtidan Cemetery.

KK was born to C S Menon of Thiruvambadi in Thrissur and Kanavally of Punkunnam, in Delhi in 1968. The singer, on Tuesday, had collapsed at the Grand Hotel after returning from a music concert. He was rushed to the Medical Research Institute in Kolkata but was declared dead. KK had wounds on his face and head and as per hospital sources, it occured when he collapsed and not due to bleeding. The police checked the hotel room and questioned the employees and organizers.

Meanwhile, Kolkata New market police have registered an unnatural death case on his demise.
