THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister AK Saseendran said that poaching will not be allowed under the guise of permission to exterminate wild boars and action will be taken under the Wildlife Conservation Act.

Permission was granted on an experimental basis. He said the policy would be reviewed after a year.

Terms

• Order can be issued to shoot down wild boars depending on the situation in the particular area. A person with a gun license should be assigned for this.
• Wild boars should be shot in the presence of forest officials
• It must be ensured that human lives, property, livestock and other wildlife are not harmed while killing wild boar.
• After killing the wild boar, the forest officials have to prepare a mahassar and conduct an autopsy
• The carcass of a wild boar should be buried scientifically.
• The services of public awareness committees can be utilized to kill wild boars and bury their bodies.
