THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the number of industrial establishments in the state will be increased to three lakh and six lakh new jobs will be created within the next five years of the government. He was inaugurating the closing ceremony of the first anniversary celebrations of the second Pinarayi government at the Nishagandhi Auditorium.

Starting one lakh ventures in 2022-23 will create employment for at least three lakh people. By 2030, all public sector companies will be in a profitable state. It has already made a profit of Rs 384 crore. The membership of the Pravasi Welfare Fund has reached seven lakhs. Have provided gas connection to 8864 households through GAIL. With the help of KIIFB, two lakh sq ft building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 105 crore at the Technopark and a 57,250 sq ft IT space building will be constructed in the Infopark. The construction of Vizhinjam port will be completed within two years.

The number of families under the National Rural Employment Generation Scheme has been increased from 15 lakhs in a year to 16,45,000 and the number of working days increased to 75. KSRTC will be re-organised. 616-km Kovalam-Bekal Waterway will be opened this year. Also, land acquistion for Silverline project will take place soon.
