KOCHI: The UDF activists danced with joy after Uma Thomas garnered a massive lead. They reached in front of the counting centres with flags and shouted slogans against Prof K V Thomas. They shouted slogans ‘see you later'. With Uma confirming victory, more activists from other centres in the constituency are thronging the counting centres.

When reports last came in, Uma Thomas has raised her lead to over 8,000 votes. Uma has a clear lead in all the UDF strongholds. The UDF has got more lead than expected. Uma also leads in low polling booths. Uma Thomas has been steadily gaining the lead since the first round of counting.

The votes are counted at Maharaja's College in Ernakulam. The strong room was opened in the presence of candidates and political party representatives and the voting machines were taken out at 7.30 am. Counting started at 8 am.
