Youth Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil has sung a song in response to a song sung by A A Rahim MP during the election campaign for the LDF candidate in Thrikkakkara. The leader was seen sharing his joy by chanting “Joraane joraane… Thrikkakkarayil joraane… Uma Thomas joraane” in a video shared by the Muslim Youth League on Facebook.

Earlier, Rahim MP had sung “Joraane joraane… Jo Joseph joraane” while campaigning for Jo Joseph. This time, Uma Thomas’ majority is bigger than P T Thomas’ majority in previous elections and Benny Bahnan’s majority in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Uma Thomas has secured a lead of 22,483 votes after nine rounds of counting. LDF candidate Jo Joseph was unable to secure majority anywhere. So far, BJP candidate A N Radhakrishnan has secured 10,753 votes.
