KOCHI: Following Uma Thomas’ victory in Thrikkakkara, Congress president K Sudhakaran has mocked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and K V Thomas. Sudhakaran scoffed that the captain has been destroyed and that K V Thomas could not even secure 10 votes in his own panchayat.
“After each round of vote counting, the Left Front is seen going one katham (16km) backward. Kodiyeri had said that the election would be an assessment of the government. The will of Thrikkakkara is the will of Kerala. If Pinarayi has any dignity, then he should resign. The election result shows the strong comeback of the Congress. This new Congress is going to face the coming elections. Where, What K V Thomas? He couldn’t create any effect. He couldn’t even secure 10 votes in his own panchayat”, Sudhakaran said.
Meantime, the UDF is aiming its victory celebrations in Thrikkakkara at K V Thomas as well. After Uma Thomas’ lead soared up, Congress activists took to streets with Thirutha fish (Flathead grey mullets) and began to chant “Thirutha Thomas veno, free aayi tharam” (Do you want Thirutha Thomas? Will give it for free). Some activists celebrated the victory by cracking fireworks in front of Thomas’ house as well.
