THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The trade unions boycotted the meeting convened by KSRTC CMD to discuss issues related to salary distribution. Representatives of CITU, INTUC and BMS walked out of the meeting called by CMD Biju Prabhakar.
The corporation has not yet said whether it will be able to pay the salary to KSRTC. The CITU alleged that the CMD had said that the salary would be paid if the unions make the government give money and that this was arrogant. The union leaders also said that the purchase of the ticket machine was a big scam. The CITU said it would hold a strike in front of the MD's office from Monday.
BMS said that the salary for the work should be paid first and that discussions can be held later. BMS alleged that it was the incompetence of the corporation to generate Rs 193 crore in revenue and not able to set aside Rs 78 crore for salaries. The INTUC leaders also said that the management was deliberately delaying pay and that they would hold a day and night strike in front of the MD's office from Monday.
