HYDERABAD: Hyderabad police have registered a case against five minors for allegedly sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl in the city last week. The incident came to light after the victim's father lodged a police complaint regarding the incident that took place in a parked car in Jubilee Hills.
According to police, the incident took place on May 28 when the girl went to attend a party at a pub in Jubilee Hills. Following the party, the girl was offered a lift by the accused in a car. They assaulted the girl after she got into the car.No arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident.
After conducting an investigation, police found that the car in which the assault took place belonged to an MLA. It is learnt that the MLA's son was also involved in the crime. Police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and section 354, 376 (gang rape) of the IPC. The girl had attended a party attended by the MLA's son and the Minority Board chairman. CCTV footage of the girl and the accused walking together has also been circulating on social media.
Dismissing the allegations, the MLA's family claimed that the accused was not in the car and was seated in a cafe when the crime took place.
