MANANTHAVADY: A man who fell ill while climbing a tree died later at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Pilakkavu native Rameshan (46), a worker of the Parison's estate. The accident happened around 12 noon on Friday. Rameshan was climbing a tree in the garden of a private individual near the house.

He climbed the tree to cut a branch of the tree. Rameshan, who became unconscious soon after climbing the tree, was trapped on the tree for about an hour. Following this, locals rushed to the area and made sure that he did not fell on the ground. Mananthavady fire force soon reached the spot and rushed Rameshan to Wayanad Govt Medical College Hospital. Although he was soon shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College for specialist treatment, he died in the evening. Rameshan is survived by wife Saritha, children Akshaya and Abhinav.
