THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All organizations of KSRTC employees' will start a strike from today to protest against the non-payment of salaries by June 5 as per the agreement. The CITU and TDF organizations will start an indefinite strike from today at the KSRTC headquarters.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan will inaugurate the strike of INTUC and the drivers' union TDF. CITU state president Anathalavattom project, will also inagurate KSRTC employees union.

Despite receiving a monthly income of Rs 200 crore, delays in the payment of salaries have angered the unions. In the last two months, salaries have been delayed by 20 days. There is an expenditure of Rs 250 crore this month, including payment of salaries. 65 crore has been sought from the government but no guarantee has been received so far. According to the management, the salary distribution will depend on the amount received from government.

A maximum of Rs 45 crore can be raised through overdraft. In the meantime, the management has been put under intense pressure by pro-government organizations by starting strikes
