KOCHI: The investigating team questioned four people including actor Saiju Kurup for helping the accused by handing over the credit card to Vijay Babu, who was absconding in Dubai in a sexual abuse case. The other three names have not been divulged. Saiju will be arraigned in the case if he helped knowing that Vijay Babu is an accused. Saiju was grilled for an hour yesterday. Vijay Babu will be questioned again after the testimony of witnesses is completed.

The police found that the cards delivered by a relative of Vijay Babu at the film location in Kodungallur were handed over directly to the accused by Saiju in Dubai. The investigation team has not publicised the statement of Saiju. Police believe that Vijay Babu sought the help of the actor as he needed money to go into hiding. The police have also collected the details of transactions made through this credit card.

Police had seized two phones of Vijay Babu. They have been sent to Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Lab for scientific examination. The forensic report will be obtained by the end of this month. The investigation team hope that Vijay Babu's chats with his actor friend, phone calls and the WhatsApp chats with the actress will be recovered through forensic examination.

The statements from 30 witnesses have been registered. A prominent singer and his wife are key witnesses in the case. Their statement will be recorded soon. They are a witness of Vijay Babu arriving at the hotel in Kochi with the actress.
