THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A protest march by the Popular Front to the residence of the chief minister turned violent. A clash broke out when the protestors tried to jump over the barricades. The police used water cannons and tear gas towards the protestors.
The protesters threw bottles against the police. There were about a thousand activists. They shouted slogans and marched towards Cliff House and then tried to jump over the barricade. They staged the protest march for filing cases unfairly.
The leaders had earlier said that the detention of K H Nasser, the state treasurer of the Popular Front, in the case of shouting hate slogans was unacceptable and the action against the Popular Front in the name of the boy’s hate slogans would be resisted and overpowered.
