THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have found the weapons that are believed to have been used by Durga Vahini activists during a rally in Neyyattinkara. The weapons, which include four swords and a rod, were seized from the house of a Durga Vahini activist in Vellarada. Police have sent the weapons for forensic examination. Investigating officials said that they have identified the girls who took part in the rally. Police said that they will soon record the statement of these girls. According to the investigating officials, the swords found in the house of the activist were spray-painted swords made of wood. The swords have been sent for forensic examination to determine if they were the ones used in the rally.
The event was held on May 22 in Keezharur. A controversy erupted after photos and videos of the rally surfaced on social media showing girls holding swords. Following this, the police registered a case against this under non-bailable sections. Aryankode police had earlier said that they had launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
