PANAJI: A British woman who was on a holiday in Goa was raped at Sweet Lake near Arambol beach in North Goa. The police have arrested Joel Vincent D’Souza (32), a resident of Goa in the incident which happened on June 2.

The middle-aged woman was holidaying in Goa with her husband. Joel raped her when she was relaxing at the beach in Goa. He has been arrested and the investigation is progressing, said the police.

The couple approached the British High Commission with a complaint on Monday. Following that, the authorities informed the Goa Police.
