THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The priority is not for giving salary to employees. The employees not working properly has reduced productivity, said KSRTC in the high court, in response to a private plea demanding the payment of salaries before the fifth day of every month.

The first priority is to provide public transport for the people. Even though it is a non-profit organization, the revenue generated is not enough to cover the daily expenses. 600 buses are not in service. In order to bring them back to the road, employees will have to be on duty for 12 hours

When reforms are brought to save KSRTC, the employees are objecting it. They are threatening the management and the government instead of standing with the institution. If the reforms are implemented, then it will be possible to raise Rs 200 crore per month as ticket revenue by October, KSRTC told the court
