THRISSUR: Amal Mohammad Ali, who first possessed Mahindra Thar, said there is a conspiracy in the Thar auction in Guruvayur. The court asked to take an appropriate decision when the auction turned controversial. The court did not ask to re-auction it. Amal while talking to a leading TV channel alleged that the devaswom board and the commissioner have a role in this conspiracy.

‘If a vehicle is auctioned once then it should be given to that person. Amal won the bid of that Thar 9454 in the auction held in the presence of Guruvayoorappan. That vehicle is hundred percent mine. I don’t think it's my fault being the lone bidder.

Only a maximum of 15 bidders were there in the re-auctioning. If a notice barring non-Hindus from auction was given, would not have participated in the auction. The high court had not asked to re-auction,’ Amal said.

Mahindra Company offered the new model Thar to Guruvayur temple on December 4 last year. The devaswom decided to auction the vehicle and it was held on December 18. The auction had led to a controversy as only one person attended it. Amal Mohammad, an NRI Malayalee won the bid for Rs 15.10 lakh.

However, Hindu Seva Sangham had filed a complaint in the high court as only one person participated in the first auction. Following that, a decision was taken to re-auction the vehicle and an expatriate Malayalee Vignesh Vijayakumar won the bid for Rs 43 lakh.
