THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that everything he said regarding the gold smuggling case has turned out to be true. According to Chennithala, it has become clear that the gold smuggling took place with the knowledge of the Chief Minister and his office.

"The truth will come out even if you cover it using a biryani vessel. The facts are coming out every day. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the first accused in the gold smuggling case. The truth will definitely come out. The government will not be able to dismiss it by saying that it was an old case. The Chief Minister cannot wash away all the stains of corruption on the basis of winning an election. More facts will come out in connection with the gold smuggling case. The faces of many will be exposed," Chennithala said.

"I did not say anything that was not in line with the facts. I did not have to correct anything that I said. The allegations were made on the basis of facts and documents. We are taking Swapna's statement very seriously. We hope that the investigating agencies will look into the matter," he added.

Ramesh Chennithala's response came in the wake of the recent revelations made by Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case.
