THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister PA Muhammad Riyas said senior citizens would be given a 50 percent discount on entry fees at centres under the Department of Tourism. Organizations of senior citizens had called on the government to grant concessions to senior citizens at tourist destinations. The Kozhikode Human Rights Forum had also demanded this in its petition to the Legislative Committee on Welfare of senior citizens. The tourism department examined the matter and prepared a detailed report. The fee waiver is given after a detailed examination of the report submitted to the committee.
