THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A high-level meeting will be held today to discuss the follow-up action on the eco-sensitive zone order. Forest Minister AK Saseendran said the government is in favour of avoiding populated areas from the buffer zone.

"Will look into the possibility of approaching the Supreme Court directly on the matter. Controversy is unnecessary. The situation is not worrisome. The government will act in the interest of the farmers. The central intervention will be demanded", the minister said.

The minister alleged that there was a covert attempt to divide the government and the people. He further clarified that there is no situation to have a dispute with the farmers. Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has started legal scrutiny on the eco-sensitive zone order.
