THRISSUR: A grandmother committed suicide by jumping into a well with her grandson. The deceased has been identified as Ambika, wife of Ajayan and grandson Adish of Panikkassery house in Kizhipullikkara, Thrissur. The bodies were found in a well when family members searched for them after they went missing. A note was received stating that no one else is responsible for the death. The letter states that she and her grandson should be buried together. Relatives have recognized Ambika's handwriting in the letter.

Adish is the son of Ambika's daughter. After getting divorced, her daughter lives with another man in Thiruvananthapuram. Ambika was looking after the boy as his mother didn't accommodate him. The baby was difficult to care for due to health issues. Ambika also suffered from mental problems as her daughter was not looking after her and her son's affairs. As per preliminary assumptions, this may have led to suicide.

Adish is a second class student of Kizhupillikkara SSALP School. The bodies were shifted to the hospital for postmortem.
