KASARGOD: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that no one can cover up the truth all the time and it will come out someday.
"People have a right to know the truth about the gold smuggling case. For so long, the CPM and the Chief Minister have been cheating the people by spreading false stories. There is no need for us to carry out a political conspiracy in this regard," he said.
The truth will come out even if it is covered in a biryani vessel: Chennithala
Former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the truth in the gold smuggling case will come out even if it is covered with a biriyani vessel. He was inaugurating a march organised by INTUC in front of the secretariat against the anti-people policies of the state government.
Chennithala alleged that Pinarayi Vijayan was the first CM to smuggle gold in a biriyani vessel. "Anti-national activity has taken place in the CM office, we demand his resignation, inquiry must be done under a court. We can't trust central agencies, they have a nefarious design, BJP is in cahoots with CPM & wants to weaken the Congress," he said.
CM running away from real issues: V Muraleedharan
Union minister V Muraleedharan on Wednesday said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was "running away from the real issues."
"Calling it politically motivated is just running away from the real issue. The CPI (M) is afraid of facing the people, they should give a written statement. The CM should have faced the media and explained the facts and he should have made efforts to convince the people of Kerala," Muraleedharan said.
