KOCHI: Swapna Suresh said that he had sought anticipatory bail in a case registered by the Cantonment Police on former minister Jaleel's complaint out of fear. She said that she did not intend to run away or obstruct the investigation. She added that she would co-operate with the case.

The High Court had rejected the bail pleas of Swapna Suresh and Sarith. Swapna's response came after this. The court rejected the bail pleas, accepting the government's contention that Sarith was not an accused and that the case was filed under a bailable section. Swapna had demanded the court to accept her anticipatory bail plea today itself.

"Shaji Kiran was my good friend and loyalist. There were no problems until this morning. Shaji came yesterday as I asked him to come. He arrived as a mediator and demanded to withdraw the confidential statement," Swapna said.

"He mentally tortured me till yesterday evening. He said that a person named Nikesh Kumar would meet me. Shaji also said that I should hand over my phone to Nikesh. Nikesh Kumar is the voice of the Chief Minister. Shaji said that the case and travel ban can be avoided if I come to terms with Nikesh," she said.

KT Jaleel had lodged a complaint against the revelation of Swapna Suresh yesterday. Following this, the cantonment police registered a case against Swapna and PC George. In his complaint, Jaleel alleged that Swapna conspired against him and made defamatory remarks and false propaganda.
