PALAKKAD: Swapna Suresh, the accused in the gold smuggling case, said that Shaji Kiran had earlier threatened that Sarith would be nabbed by Vigilance officials if she refuses to withdraw her statement against the CM. According to Swapna, Shaji Kiran's threat came after she made revelations against the Chief Minister.

"Shaji Kiran had called Sarith over the phone and said 'Sarith, you will be nabbed tomorrow.' I have evidence, including the voice clip, and will release it tomorrow," Swapna said to the media.

"Sarith was taken away soon after he was threatened by Shaji Kiran. What should we understand from this? Shaji told me about Sarith's abduction even before the media reported that Sarith was taken away by the Vigilance. Everything is clear from this. I was mentally tortured for hours. He threatened to book me under several cases. I have all those voice clips. I will release them tomorrow," Swapna said.

Earlier, Swapna had said that Shaji Kiran was her friend and that he reached Palakkad after she asked her to come there. She added that Shaji Kiran, however, tried to settle the case by mentally torturing her and asked her to speak to Nikesh Kumar, the voice of the Chief Minister.
