DOHA: The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has demanded the disclosure of information on cash and valuables held by all travelers upon entry or departure from Qatar.

Any person in possession of any currency, bearer negotiable instruments, precious metals, or stones equivalent to or exceeding QAR50,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies, must fill the declaration form and hand it over to the Customs Authorities, instructs QCAA.

The QCAA said the proposal had been issued to all airlines in Qatar. Airlines have been instructed to inform passengers that they must inform the authorities of any such valuables before entering and departing from Qatar.

This should be in accordance with the directives of the Qatar Customs General Authority. This is applicable to all entry gates to the country.

However, the authorities have said that giving false information or not providing information will lead to strict legal action. The declaration form will be available at all airports in departure and arrival counters at special counters, said the QCAA.
