KASARGOD: The District Collectorate officials are yet to pay the compensation of Rs 200 crore to Endosulfan victims sanctioned by government as per the Supreme court order. Rs 5 lakh each was sanctioned in early April. Also the order to pay 3718 people within four weeks was also rejected. Only 8 people received the amount. They are being mistreated by the officers, they were told to apply again through online. Almost 700 people submitted new application. Then they were again told to re-apply except the first 100 and have not made clear who those are.

Minister M.V. Govindan is the chairman of Endosulfan cell and the district collector is the convener. The members are MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, local body presidents, political party representatives and representatives of several social organizations.

6728 people are in the list of victims. As per the order of the National Human Rights Commission, 1442 victims should be given five lakhs each and three lakhs to 1568 persons. 186 crore is required to provide Rs 5 lakh each to the remaining 3718 persons
