KANNUR: The police has issued a notice to KPCC chief K Sudhakaran. The notice was issued following the warning of violence to be unleashed towards the police at the Kannur Collectorate march.
The march is inaugurated by K Sudhakaran. The notice was issued to him this morning by the Kannur City Assistant Commissioner. The UDF is staging widespread protests in the state following the allegations levelled against the chief minister in the gold smuggling case.
There is a possibility of bottles to be thrown at the collectorate and the police during the march in Kannur. The notice stated that precautions should be taken to avoid such incidents and that a case would be registered against Sudhakaran, as he is the inaugurator, if the march turns violent. This is an unusual act from the side of the police.
Meantime, heavy police security has been deployed at the collectorate. About 200 policemen from various police stations of the district, have been deployed in the areas.
